Community Speedwatch
Road safety, particularly speeding, is huge concern of most Stretham residents. In an attempt to moderate serious and persistent speeding along our village roads the Parish Council, is seeking to form a police-managed, trained and supported Community Speedwatch (CSW) Team.
The aim of the CSW is to passively educate speeding drivers by using Speed Indicating Devices and advisory letters. Volunteers will always work in teams of at least 3 people kerbside. For sessions to be regular and to spread the workload we need volunteers who are able to give up an hour of their time, say once a month. Sessions will always be in daylight hours and at your convenience.
If you feel you can help to make Stretham safer please complete the linked volunteer form to find out more. The completed form can be emailed to [email protected] or posted in the letterbox at the Parish Rooms

Community Garden
Stretham’s outstanding new Community Garden is now officially open and available for the local community to enjoy! The land for the garden is owned by Stretham Charity, and the space has been transformed from a derelict, unappealing area, into a usable space that seems to have clearly caught the attention, engagement and, dare we say, pride of very many in the village!
It is intended as a space for Stretham residents and their friends and family to sit, socialise, picnic and just relax. There are no ‘opening hours’ only a request to respect all neighbours ‘on and off’ the site. The vision is for the space to become an all-year-round haven for nature with colour and delightful smells a plenty, with upcoming projects to include an outdoor kitchen.
To stay abreast of what is happening either pop by and say hello and / or follow us on Facebook our page is called ‘Stretham Community Garden’

Stretham Light Up the Village
The Stretham Light Up group is formed of Village residents on a voluntary basis. The group aims to annually supply and erect Christmas lights for the village of Stretham. The lights belong to the village and the group is self-supporting through their fund raising efforts.
The group’s primary purpose is to provide the village with Christmas street lighting for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors to the Parish.
